Last Friday, Terakeet took to the lawn of the Milton J. Rubenstein Museum of Science and Technology in Syracuse’s Armory Square to participate in the Ice Bucket Challenge, in support of the ALS Association. Led by CEO Mac Cummings, who pledged to make a donation for each person that participated, more than 80 Terakeet employees formed a circle and completed the challenge waterfall-style, as intrigued pedestrians and local residents looked on.
Since the Ice Bucket Challenge kicked off on July 29, the ALS Association has received $41.8 million in donations as of Thursday, August 21. In the same period last year, the organization raised $2.1 million.
In an effort to encourage local participation among businesses, Terakeet nominated Bankers Healthcare Group, Eric Mower + Associates and O’Brien & Gere to take the challenge and make a donation to the ALS Association.
Bankers Healthcare Group
Bankers Healthcare Group, led by CMO Chris Panebianco, went one step further and created a hashtag campaign encouraging all healthcare professionals to complete the challenge using #BHGfightsALS. For each participant, BHG has pledged to donate $10 to the ALS Association with a goal of $25,000. For more information on their campaign, follow Bankers Healthcare Group on Twitter or connect with them on LinkedIn.
Eric Mower + Associates
Led by Greg Loh, our friends at Eric Mower + Associates also took over the lawn of the MOST to complete their challenge. Loh nominated all EMA offices throughout the country and pledged to make a donation for each office that participated.
O’Brien & Gere
Before even getting a chance to turn over their buckets, the folks at O’Brien & Gere got a nice dose of water from the rainy Syracuse weather. In their video, CEO Jim Fox revealed that ALS has touched the O’Brien & Gere family, making it an important cause to their organization. OBG pledged to make a generous donation to the ALS Association and proceeded to douse themselves with the ice water before nominating the local offices of Harris Beach and Anchor QEA.
